Dr. Eric Weber

Dr. Eric Weber

Eric Weber, M.D. is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and has been performing laser refractive surgery since 2006. He started his training at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, where he earned his medical degree and was commissioned as a Captain in the United States Army.

Dr. Weber then completed his internship and residency at the prestigious Walter Reed Army Medical Center where he had the distinct honor of taking care of soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan as well as senators and dignitaries. After residency he completed a combined fellowship in neuro-ophthalmology, orbital surgery, and oculoplastics at the University of Virginia. He returned to Walter Reed where he completed an apprenticeship in pediatric ophthalmology and then served as chief of the combined neuro-ophthalmology and pediatric ophthalmology services. Dr. Weber remained an active refractive surgeon during this time, becoming one of the primary cataract and refractive surgery instructors for Army and Navy ophthalmology residents.

He later served as a Battalion Surgeon at the Fort Bliss Warrior Transition Unit in El Paso, Texas where he cared for over 700 injured and wounded soldiers returning from combat zones. While at Fort Bliss, he was instrumental in starting the LASIK surgery program at their Warfighter Refractive Surgery Center and became the director of ophthalmic trauma for the Tri-states region of Texas, New Mexico and Juarez, Mexico. He also served as both the Director of Surgical Services and the Chief Medical Officer for William Beaumont Army Medical Center.
